How effective is the pullout method against pregnancy?

The US CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) reports that for every 100 couples that use the withdrawal method as their sole form of contraception, 22 of those couples will experience a pregnancy any given year. Why is that number so high?!

The reason is pre-ejaculate and technique. Realistically, there are mixed reports on pre-ejaculate (fluid that comes out of the penis before orgasm) containing sperm but it’s definitely possible. Moreover, the problem with the withdrawal method is that people do not always use it correctly (meaning, they don’t pull out in time). If you’re going to use this method it’s best to use with a condom and/or another form of birth control.
