You talk a lot about how the female orgasm is complex, but the male orgasm isn’t always as easy as you make it seem.

You are totally right, and I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. Yes, I do discuss A LOT about the how, where and why of orgasm troubles that MANY females deal with — specifically because we are made to believe vaginal penetration alone is the key to euphoria by pop culture. And it’s not. However, while many men find orgasm quite easy and straight-forward, many men don’t have it that way.

The male orgasm is generally achieved by stimulation of the penis alone, though the testicles and other areas of the body can provide sexual pleasure. But much like females, both mental and physical arousal are often needed to achieve orgasm. And that’s perfectly normal! So here are my key points:

  • It is OKAY and doesn’t mean you are unhealthy if it takes a little longer to orgasm…and if you require more than just physical stimulation.

  • Partners, if your male companion doesn’t ejaculate as quickly as you’ve been taught to believe by pop culture (and I’ve been guilty of perpetuating this mentality) there is nothing wrong with YOU and there is nothing wrong with HIM. Discuss what feels good, what turns you both on and make sure you are both enjoying your intimate time in the bedroom…or wherever you choose to share these special moments.
