What things make a condom less effective?
Condoms are a great form of protection from both STIs and unwanted pregnancy. However, a few things make them less effective:
Doubling up. Never put two condoms on at once. The friction can cause them to break. A single condom should be just fine.
Oil-based lube. This can also cause the condom to tear. Use water-based or silicone-based instead.
Poor fit. Check out my video to understand the best way to size your condom.
Sloppy removal. When you’ve ejaculated, hold the base of the condom and pull out. Remove the condom in a place that allows you to clean up any ejaculate that escapes.
