Does exercise really help with depression?

We all know that exercise is good for you. Anything that gets your heart pumping and your sweat shining is recommended on a daily basis to keep your ticker in tip-top shape. But this amount of time can be hard to find for teens. Unless you’re in an organized sport or regular gym class, school and other responsibilities can interfere with normal activity.

However, there’s no time like the present to try to make a small change, and here’s one more piece of motivation. Studies are showing that regular exercise when you’re a teenager can reduce your risk of depression as an adult. What’s not to like about that? So if you’re able to start a routine now, your future self might thank you.
