When will I get my growth spurt? I’m a guy.

This is going to be a puberty lesson. For males, puberty usually starts around 11 to 12 (later than females). It starts with testicular enlargement but you might only notice a slight change in the color of your scrotum (the skin sack). Your voice may also start to crack (embarrassing but normal!). Shortly thereafter you might notice some hair popping up “down there.” Over the next couple of years the penis and testicles continue to grow, and pubic hair will reach adult distribution around the age of 15.

Somewhere, in the midst of all of these genital changes, you will have your growth spurt (usually after the age of 13). However, puberty is different for everyone. If you’re running a little late, that’s okay! If you haven’t noticed ANY of these changes by the time you’re 14, chat with a doctor.
