I was diagnosed with an epididymal cyst 6 months ago, and now I have discomfort in the other testicle. Is this actually cancer?

To answer your question, I do think you should get it checked out, but don’t panic. It’s likely to be something similar to what they found previously (a fluid-filled sac on your epididymis). But let’s take this opportunity to talk about anatomy.

There should be two testicles (or balls) in your scrotum. This is where sperm are made. On the back of each testicle is the epididymis, which is where sperm are stored in preparation for ejaculation. Connected to the top of the epididymis is the spermatic cord, which holds blood vessels and the tube carrying sperm to the inside of the body. You can probably feel this if you gently roll the skin on the back, upper part of the testicle between two fingers. These lumps are normal. However, if you ever feel any other lumps or changes in the testicles, it’s worth showing a doctor.
